Andrew Silver

Caught using a Creek Chub Knuckle-Head.

The fish hit after I paused the lure in the water for a good 10 seconds, and re-started my retrieve. I had over 35 fish in this one, morning outing, and then things pretty much shut down (four over 20 lbs., 10 over 15 lbs. and a bunch of rats). The fall run has not been strong, but we anticipate a body of fish to migrate after this upcoming nor'easter. It has been constant rain for a number of weeks here.

I have had a couple of thirties on bait from shore, and caught my biggest largemouth bass to date
(6 lbs., 6oz.) at my local reservior after 14 years of trying. Pretty good for a northeastern water body. I also had the distinction of sighting the first northern snakehead fish in NYC waters- and I suppose the state. Got a little press from that, so gave me some bragging rights. All in all it has not been too bad a year for me fish-wise, and I am still looking at another month of striper fishing before the winter sets in.
